THE Federal Government has renamed Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) after the late General Adeyinka Adebayo. Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who reported this in Iyin-Ekiti at the memorial service for the late General, said this was in acknowledgment of the life and his commitments to the solidarity and improvement of Nigeria.
Osinbajo, who conveyed President Muhammadu Buhari's discourse at the memorial service, depicted General Adebayo as an officer and a noble man in reality, saying "his military direction was in a way a lesson in Nigeria's history." He said naming of Adeyinka Adebayo Federal University in Oye-Ekiti was one of the ways Nigeria would value his commitments to the nation and deify him.
